With a heavy heart, I am announcing the closing of The Hanger effective Dec 19th, 2016.
It has been a great journey. In 2009, we opened our doors with a small space in downtown Victoria, and later moved to our current location in Chanhassen. We began with our own meager selection of merchandise and today serve over 5000 sellers and even more customers. The store is financially fit and has seen consistent double digit growth year over year.
So, why close? Well, with any great journey, there’s likely to be a rollercoaster ride. Mine involves both family and business events. During the past 5 years my husband underwent 5 surgeries, 2 with lengthy hospital stays, 1 life threatening. My business partner and I had a sudden parting of ways and in the last 18 months, 3 of my family members have passed away, one being my mom. I have missed my kids’ events, family vacations and family dinners. Running 2 retail stores and tending to my family during these traumatic events took a toll on me. I’m physically and emotionally exhausted. After 7 years of working crazy retail hours, I need to step away and be with my family.
I have met so many wonderful people along the way and have been blessed with some great friendships. I feel confident we have become the best resale store for selection, customer service, and value in the southwest metro.
And then there’s my staff, past and present. They have been dedicated, reliable, and loyal to a fault. From my first employee, Paige, to Katie, Claire, Nicole and Anastasia to name a few, I have been blessed to be surrounded by incredibly hard working, ethical staff. I am especially grateful for the many years with Cindy and Rachel! I could not have survived without their friendship and support. Oh, how we have laughed over the years!
I cannot express how grateful I am for your business. Thank you. My goal has always been to provide a great product with superior customer service. I walk away with a full heart knowing we’re going out on top.
